Huntlee’s New Schools Coming in 2028

The future of education in Huntlee is here. For the first time, families will have access to a public preschool, primary school, and high school right in the heart of our township.

On Tuesday, NSW Department of Education representatives visited Huntlee to host a community consultation and share the first artist impressions of the new schools.

Set to open Day 1, Term 1 2028 on Persoonia Boulevard, the adjoining schools will welcome up to 1,500 students — 500 in the primary school and 1,000 in the high school — plus a public preschool with 120 weekly places.

These schools will be a game-changer for Huntlee families, with:

- Modern learning spaces, including 27 classrooms in the primary school and 54 in the high school

- Specialist facilities for support classes

- VET training areas, like a kitchen and workshop, to prepare students for thriving Hunter industries

Community benefits through new sports fields, play areas, and modern halls

Site preparation for the high school is already underway, and detailed plans will be exhibited for public feedback in the coming months.

Part of a record $9 billion NSW Government investment in school infrastructure, this project ensures that as Huntlee grows towards its vision of 20,000 residents, our children will have access to world-class education, without ever having to leave the community they call home.
