Huntlee shines bright as an award winning community
One of Australia’s most awarded developers LWP Property Group has been recognised by the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) with an award for excellence in masterplanning.
Huntlee, located in the picturesque Huntley Valley was awarded the 2023 UDIA NSW & Coronation Property Award for Excellence in Masterplanned Communities and was also commended in the Regional Development category.
Project Director, Stephen Thompson said the recent accolade from the UDIA has further cemented Huntlee’s place as a great community to live, work and play in regional New South Wales.
“Huntlee was established to offer a unique lifestyle for families to enjoy their surrounds and still have access to the amenities they need – and it is wonderful to see that our planning that’s been more than a decade in the making is being recognised with this award,” Mr Thompson said.
“There are a multitude of aspects which go into creating a vibrant community that goes beyond allocating parcels of land for homes and businesses – the award from UDIA highlights our efforts to incorporate art, culture, entertainment, business services, education and recreation as part of Huntlee’s master plan.
Mr Thompson said that Huntlee began construction in 2013 and was the first new town in the Hunter Valley for more than 50 years.
“Huntlee is now home to about 3,000 people and it has been designed to grow with the community to comfortably accommodate 20,000 residents by 2035.
“Huntlee is a thriving community because it offers contemporary living in the heart of the Hunter Valley, and it is now home to multiple generations of families who are building a legacy in the town they founded,” he said.
“This award is a testament to the efforts of the entire Huntlee team, including our consultants and contractors, and our government partners who worked tirelessly to create an industry leading masterplanned community.
As an award winner, Huntlee is now a finalist for the 2023 UDIA President’s Award, which will be announced at the Annual President’s Luncheon on Thursday, 7th September at Crown Sydney.
